Outrageous Israel – Youth Program (An 18 – Day Program)

The length of the course does not include travel time from your international airport to the place where the course is offered. We can help you to arrange the flights and include them in your final custom itinerary. The itineraries are samples and individual sites may be amended for your group.

  • Day One: Pick up Registration Packet at hotel. Welcome Dinner. “Ice Breaker” Introduction. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Two: Introduction to the Land of the Bible -The morning will be filled with a group “Ice Breaker” Event, followed by our opening devotional time, and some incredible classroom activities to prepare us for the desert trip. Afternoon Field Trip (alias, keep the “jet lagged” moving!). Sites: Israel Museum, Overview of City. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Three: Searching Genesis: (Gen. 11-50) Patriarchs and Matriarchs -Theme description: Today will be an investigation of the earliest stories of the Bible, from Abraham to Joseph. Special activities will include an awesome climb up an 1100 foot cliff (c’mon, you can do it!), and a visit to an ancient city that has been restored by archaeologists from the time of Genesis! Depart for Negev Field Study. Sites: Beersheva, Wadi Zin, Avdat, Mizpe Ramon. Overnight Arad.
  • Day Four: Experiencing Exodus: (Ex. and Numbers) Meet The God of the Wilderness. Theme description: The highlights of today will include an opportunity to experience the camel caravan in the desert, and hike in the “wadis” of the desert. Sites: Ancient Arad, Mampsis, Camel Trek, Wadi Zohar (light hike). Overnight: Arad.
  • Day Five: The God of the Salt Covenant- A Look at the Faithfulness of God -Theme description: Climb in some caves carved out of a salt mountain, float in the Dead Sea and hike to a water fall and a fortress in the desert all in one day! Sites: Salt Caves, Dead Sea, Masada, Ein Gedi, Qumran. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Six: Team Adventure #1 -After a morning teaching and devotional session, we will divide in teams and do the “Jerusalem Old City Scavenger Hunt Extravaganza”.  Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Seven: Joshua: Conquest and Settlement -After a morning session in the classroom on “Historical Periods and the Kings of Ancient Israel”, we will go out to Nabi Samwill for lunch and exploration; then on to the ancient City of David (Old Testament Jerusalem) for a hike around the ancient ruins. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Eight: The Sin Cycle- Jogging Thru Judges, Kings & Prophets -Theme description: Our day will include ancient ruins, awesome caves, and a barbeque at THE MEDITERRANEAN BEACH! Sites: Beth Shemesh, Azekah, Lachish, Mareshah, Beth Guvrin, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Latrun. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Nine: Getting into the New Testament Period: Hasmonean and Herodian Periods.  After a brief time in the classroom discussing the upcoming Galilee trip, we will explore a fascinating series of reproductions at the Scripture Garden, then hike into the village at Bethlehem to see the village of Jesus’ birth. Our dinner tonight will be in an ancient setting, learning about the manners and customs of a Biblical meal. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Ten: Four Conflicts of Jesus’ Ministry -Theme description: After an early breakfast, we will depart by bus to visit sites familiar to Jesus in his early life. This is bound to be a highlight of your experience. Sites: Caesarea Maritima, Megiddo, Nazareth, Sepphorus, Tiberias. Overnight: Tiberias.
  • Day Eleven: The Galilee Ministry of Jesus -Theme description: Today we will have a time of worship and fun on the Sea of Galilee in a big boat (walking on the water is strictly prohibited!), and spend time in, on and around the Sea of Galilee! Sites: Boat on Sea, Capernaum, Tabgha, Mt. of Beatitudes, Hammat Tiberias, Chorazin. Overnight: Tiberias.
  • Day Twelve: Private Time With Jesus – The Golan -Theme description: Today we will watch for the spies of Herod Antipas, and travel north to the region of Herod Philip. We will hike to a New Testament village at Gamala, and see waterfalls at the sources of the Jordan. Sites: Gamala, Qatzrin, Quinetra, Banyas (Caesarea Philippi), Tel Dan. Overnight: Tiberias.
  • Day Thirteen: Fun Day In Galilee -Your choices include tubing down the Jordan River, or waterslides on the Sea of Galilee. At night, we will close the day with a special campfire time near the sea. Overnight: Tiberias.
  • Day Fourteen: The Perean Ministry of Jesus & The John the Baptist Connection -Theme description: Following the journey of Jesus to Jerusalem (Lk. 10-19), we will climb ancient Beth Shean, and visit the ancient ruins of Jericho (looking for walls!), before we hike to a monastery in the desert. Sites: Jordan River, Beth Shean, Views of Perea, Jericho. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Fifteen: Jesus In Jerusalem & The Messianic Expectations -Theme description: Why did Jewish leadership miss Messiah when he came? We will look at the places from the last week of Jesus’ ministry that have been restored, and talk about the expectations of the people to whom Jesus preached. Sites: Gethsemane, Mt. Zion (Last Supper Room, St. Peter en Gallicantu), Western Wall, Old City walk. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Sixteen: Jewish Questionings and Roman Trials of Jesus -Theme description: Remembering the cost of our salvation, and the victory at the tomb will be our main theme as we finish the “Passion Week” in our walking tour of ancient Jerusalem. Sites: Ancient Temple Mount and excavations, Pool of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulchre, Garden Tomb. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Seventeen: Understanding Israel Today- A Blood and Stone History -Theme description: Today we will look at the fall of Jerusalem, and the generations of Jewish sufferings that gave rise to the rebirth of modern Israel. In the afternoon, we will explore the modern city of Jerusalem, from its markets to its cafes! Sites: Yad Vashem, Mt. Herzl, Castel, Mahane Yehuda, Ben Yehuda. Overnight: Jerusalem.
  • Day Eighteen: Free day in Jerusalem. Free to shop ’til you drop! Seminar ends with the Final Group Dinner.
