Fri, May 20 Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. Transfer to our hotel in Tel Aviv in time to enjoy the Mediterranean beach and a swim before dinner and a brief orie ntation. (1 night)
Sat, May 21 Four Conflicts during Jesus’ Ministry: Caesarea Maritima, Mt. Carmel, Megiddo, Nazareth (cave homes); overnight at a kibbutz on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. (3 nights)
Sun, May 22 Characteristics of the Disciples: Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, Ancient boat video, Mt. of Beatitudes, Primacy of Peter, Capernaum, Bethsaida, Chorazin, climb Arbel (cliffs overlooking the Gospel Triangle)
Mon, May 23 Rabbinic Style and Private Teachings to the Disciples: Gamla overlook, Katzrin (reconstructed Talmudic village), Quneitra overlook into Syria, Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan (hike through the beautiful nature reserve with its rushing waters flowing out of Mt. Hermon; see the representative altar of Jeroboam; overlook into Lebanon; visit the nearby Abrahamic mud-brick gate … fantastic site!)
Tue, May 24 Perean Ministry: Bet Shean (spectacular Roman excavations!), Jordan Valley, Qumran (site includes video & museum on the Dead Sea Scrolls), arrive Dead Sea hotel by mid afternoon … free time or a swim before dinner (1 night)
Wed, May 25 Wilderness Places: Massada (cable car or climb), hike to Ein Gedi waterfall, Jericho tel, Mt. Scopus overlook of JRS (5+ nights)
Thu, May 26 Messianic Expectations: Mt. of Olives, Gethsemane, House of Caiaphas, Upper Room, walk through the Jewish Quarter (numerous places for lunch there), South Wall excavations (Davidson Center), including the South Wall steps & the Hallel psalms.
Fri, May 27 Hebrew Backgrounds in the Shephelah: SorekValley (Sampson), Azekah & Elah Valley (David & Goliath), Bet Guvrin (Bell caves, Marissa, Eleutheropolis), Lachish (Assyrian & Babylonian invasions)
Sat, May 28 Setting of the Birth of Jesus … and Psalm 125:2: Bethlehem, Shepherds fields, Herodion, Haas Promenade
Sun, May 29 Free day
Mon, May 30 Journey to Calvary: Temple Mount, Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulchre, Yad Vashem, Garden Tomb; return to hotel for final dinner and preparation to depart for night flight
Tue, May 31 Arrive home in the late morning.
